RULES CITIES

Cities mode builds upon the classical mode. It adds 3 types of buildings to the game: city, tower, and farm. A player may have any number of buildings with only one rule: you cannot have two buildings on one node.

CITY

After the Negotation, you get one city node with one soldier.

The city is the only place where you can spawn soldiers. After a move, all territories not connected with a city will become neutral. This means that if you lose all cities, you lose everything.

Also, this game mode removes the not-split-territory rule. You may have any number of non-connected territories as long as they all have a city.

Three territories of the green player became neutral because they were not connected with a city.

FARM AND TOWER

A node with a farm counts as 3 territories instead of 1.

Node with a tower acts like there is 1 stationary soldier.

CREATING/DESTROYING A BUILDING

This game mode adds 4 tools: the city building tool , the tower building tool , the farm building tool , and the demolition tool . To use a tool, select it and click on a node where you want it to apply.

All 4 actions will take one turn. Building costs 1 soldier to perform. Demolition is free, but there has to be one soldier who will perform the demolition. The soldier has a strength of 0 while demolishing.

ORDER OF EVALUATION

Some situations are not clear. For example, what happens when the enemy overcomes the node you were building on? The exact order of evaluation is:

  1. removing and disabling soldiers (building, disbanding, demolition)
  2. movement of soldiers
  3. spawning soldiers and finishing buildings/demolition
  4. split territory

The spawning soldier does not have any strength.

The green player captured a node with a building in progress.

The green player prevented a massive loss of territory by building a city.
